“You don’t have to sacrifice quality to build on a fast track.” Fast, efficient construction is essential for controlling costs. With meticulous management, all the gears in the construction machine operate smoothly, and everyone benefits. But although speed is always one of our primary goals, it never supersedes are commitment to uncompromising quality.
The real challenge is knowing how to build on a fast track without sacrificing quality. This project is an excellent case in point – our third project with Accessible Services, Inc. (ASI), a non-profit that provides affordable housing for individuals in our community who need a helping hand.

The first two living complexes we built for ASI are located in Fort Collins and Longmont. The latest is a $3 million, 21,000-square-foot apartment building in northwest Greeley. The building features 23 one- and two-bedroom units. Ultimately, we completed the project in only eight months – seven weeks ahead of the owner’s schedule.
Trust, collaboration and farsighted planning. The subcontractors working on this job were all Heath-certified pros with deep experience. In fact, we had worked with most of them before. In an atmosphere based firmly on trust and confidence, we collaborated through every step in the process. Looking weeks ahead, we anticipated challenges and worked through them together – long before they could become disruptive problems on the jobsite.

Proactive internal communications are also crucial to keep any project on track, and this one was no exception. This project was the third in a series, not just one isolated job. By tapping into the experience of other Heath team members who had worked on the first two projects, we saved time and sharpened our understanding of both our owner’s priorities and the special needs of the mobility-impaired residents who will live here. With everyone focused on the same quality standards, we eliminated the risk of lingering quality problems in the last stages of the project. Welcome home!
Heath has also built assisted living facilities for other organizations such as Good Samaritan and the Brush Housing Authority. Along with the three facilities we have built for ASI, these projects have special meaning for everyone on the Heath construction team. Our neighbors with low income and special needs deserve a helping hand and a comfortable home they can afford. This gives them peace of mind, knowing that they are truly self-sufficient members of our community.
