HEATH STEEL SELECTED FOR STEEL BUILDING PROJECT AT ROCKY MOUNTAIN ARSENAL
FORT COLLINS, COLO. – March 24, 2010 – Heath Steel (www.heathsteel.com) will supply materials for a pre-engineered metal building that will be part of the extensive environmental cleanup project at the 17,000-acre Rocky Mountain Arsenal outside Denver.
Heath Steel, an authorized distributor of Chief Buildings, will deliver all materials for the project in mid-May. A leading manufacturer of metal building systems, Chief is well regarded for its extensive designs, durability and affordable prices.
The project’s general contractor, Hudspeth & Associates, selected Heath Steel to supply the materials. Hudspeth is an environmental remediation and construction company in Englewood, Colo., that specializes in asbestos abatement, demolition, soil remediation, new construction and restoration.
“Supplying steel-building materials to top-quality contractors like Hudspeth is a key focus of Heath Steel,” said Terry Been, Heath Steel general manager. “We can economically and quickly supply materials to general contractors and organizations, or provide an entire steel-building package that includes building design, materials and erection.”
Last year, Fort Collins-based general contractor Heath Construction launched Heath Steel. Longtime Heath Construction staff who worked closely with the steel-building business over the years now apply their expertise to Heath Steel projects.
Examples of high-profile metal buildings the Heath team has supplied and constructed include the 85,000-square-foot Furniture Row in Dacono; 26,000-square-foot Thomas M. McKee 4-H and Community Building at the Larimer County Fairgrounds at The Ranch; and the 100,000-square-foot Parker Fieldhouse in Parker, Colo.
The pre-engineered steel building at the Rocky Mountain Arsenal is part of the Arsenal’s ongoing environmental cleanup of land and groundwater contaminated by the manufacture of chemical weapons at the site during World War II. Today, the Arsenal is one of the nation’s largest urban wildlife refuges.
