HEATH CONSTRUCTION LAUNCHES $6.8 MILLION HISTORICAL RENOVATION AT WARREN AIR FORCE BASE IN CHEYENNE
Fort Collins, Colo., August 17, 2009 – Heath Construction (www.heathconstruction.com) is renovating Dormitory 236 on F. E. Warren Air Force Base in Cheyenne, Wyo. This $6.8 million historical renovation is the latest in a series of government and municipal projects Heath has completed in recent years.
The Heath team is razing the interior of the 33,500-square-foot dormitory, which was built in the early 1900s, and reinforcing the building with steel to make it blast resistant and safer for residents – all while maintaining its historical character.
To upgrade the entire building, the team also will repair and replace concrete, masonry and roofing; bolt steel channels inside exterior brick walls; install steel stairways and blast-resistant windows; and rebuild the living space into 12 five-bedroom modules. Construction is scheduled for completion in September 2010.
“Heath professionals have the experience and expertise needed to manage complex government projects,” said Randy DeMario, Heath Construction president. “We’re honored to be assisting the United States Air Force and Army Corps with this project.”
The F. E. Warren Air Force Base renovation is the latest in a long list of government and municipal facilities built or remodeled by Heath in Wyoming and Colorado over the past decade.
In Wyoming, projects include the $3.1 million renovation of the old Cheyenne City Library for the State of Wyoming, and the $1.2 million renovation of Alta Vista Elementary School in Cheyenne. In Colorado, Heath recently completed the $6.7 million Loveland Fairgrounds Park. Additional government projects include the $1.6 million, LEED-certified Council Tree Library in Fort Collins, the $4.6 million police facility for the City of Lafayette, and the $7 million Regional Biocontainment Laboratory addition at Colorado State University.
