HEATH CONSTRUCTION BREAKS GROUND ON $10.7 MILLION LARAMIE FIELD MAINTENANCE SHOP COMPLEX FOR WYOMING MILITARY DEPARTMENT
FORT COLLINS, COLO. – Dec. 20, 2011 – Heath Construction – a Fort Collins-based commercial construction company that specializes in federal, local and big box retail projects – recently broke ground on the new $10.7 million Field Maintenance Shop in Laramie, Wyo. for the Wyoming Military Department.
Construction of the Field Maintenance Shop is the fourth military project Heath recently secured.
When operational in summer 2013, the 40,746-square-foot facility will service vehicles for the Wyoming Army National Guard’s 133rd Engineer Company, which builds and maintains supply routes, airfields, base camps and other structures that support military operations. This facility will be Silver LEED certified.
“The new Wyoming Army National Guard facility will service a fleet of 150 vehicles to support federal and homeland security,” said Rich Merrill, Wyoming Military Department engineering manager. “Heath Construction earned the contract to construct this large-scale, lengthy project based on responsiveness to the competitive bid process. Because the facility is critical to serving Wyoming residents at the order of the Governor, Heath understands the importance of completing federal projects on time, within budget and at an extremely high level of quality.”
The facility will include large bays for maintenance of the unit’s construction equipment and military vehicles. It also will feature a library, break room, supervisory offices, training rooms, fitness rooms, and laundry and locker rooms.
To achieve Silver LEED certification, Heath will incorporate radiant in-floor heating, daylighting and a variety of extensive insulation and energy-saving features.
“Like the U.S. military, Heath Construction understands the importance of getting a job done quickly while meeting extremely high standards,” said Randy DeMario, Heath Construction president. “Heath has completed several construction projects for the U.S. military in Wyoming and Colorado. We have the experience to build at the caliber demanded by the forces that protect our country.”
Heath also is building the new $3.9 million, 14,400-square-foot military facility at the Camp Guernsey Military Tactics Training Center in Wyoming, which will enable military personnel to receive training in weapons and security tactics to ensure the highest levels of nuclear security.
