HEATH CONSTRUCTION BREAKS GROUND ON ANOTHER FEDERAL PROJECT – $3.9 MILLION EXPANSION OF CAMP GUERNSEY MILITARY TACTICS TRAINING CENTER
FORT COLLINS, COLO. – Jan. 3, 2012 – Heath Construction – a Fort Collins-based commercial construction company that specializes in federal, local and big box retail projects – recently commenced the construction of a new facility for the Nuclear Space Security Tactics Training Center (NSSTTC) at Camp Guernsey in Wyoming.
Heath was selected to be the Design/Builder for this new $3.9 million, 14,400-square-foot military facility. The facility is scheduled to be completed in May 2012 and is one of four federal projects Heath secured in the last year. Heath teamed with architecture firm Berger, Devine, Yaeger Inc. on this project.
The new single-story training facility will enable military personnel to receive training in weapons and security tactics to ensure the highest levels of nuclear security. The training center is the only one of its kind in the country.
“We're looking forward to the completion of the new training facility at Guernsey,” said Maj. Jay Parsons, 620th Ground Combat Training Squadron commander. “Additions like this, coupled with our team of professional instructors, not only enhance mission success, but truly make Camp Guernsey Air Force Global Strike Command's premier joint training facility.”
The completed facility, which is being designed and constructed to achieve Silver LEED certification, will have administrative space, classrooms, restroom/locker facilities, range equipment storage, weapons and ammunition storage and maintenance space.
“Coming fresh out of the Buckley Air Force Base project in Aurora, Colo. earlier this year, it’s clear people are taking notice of our strong track-record of performance handling large and complex federal projects,” said Randy DeMario, Heath president. “The Camp Guernsey Nuclear Space Security Tactics Training Center is the latest example of Heath’s ability to easily secure projects of this size and importance. Once again, we’re honored to support our military personnel.”
