Closing down for the holidays

November 23, 2011

With the Thanksgiving just a day away, we’ve closed down our onsite construction activities and cleared the sidewalk to make room for holiday shoppers.   The transom windows that had caused a lot of excitement last week – over the entrances in the accompanying photo – are enclosed in plywood, and our fenced storage area has been removed.

(For more on those transom windows, see the November 17 blog post, “Another discovery – vertical transom windows!”)

For the next few weeks, work will proceed mainly offsite. Then we’ll return for onsite work that will take us around to the east side of the Avery Building in the spring!

With our work finished for the holidays and our fenced storage area removed, the sidewalk is wide open for holiday shoppers.  We’ll be back early in the New Year to continue the restoration of the Avery Building.
