"We have our sights set on prudent, well-planned growth that will benefit every Coloradoan."

The future of Colorado is ours to build.

That simple insight is the guiding vision behind our work here in the Colorado Chapter of the Associated General Contractors of America.  Led by our new president, Randy DeMario of Heath Construction, we have our sights set on prudent, well-planned growth that will benefit every Coloradoan.

Randy and his colleagues on our board of directors have brought great clarity and energy to our mission here at AGC.  Under his leadership we are more focused than ever on the need to join with state leaders to plan wisely for the future and promote the growth of infrastructure that will attract business and create jobs.
  • Strategic Engagement – Our board meetings now routinely include such stakeholders as the economic development councils of Metro Denver, Colorado Springs and Northern Colorado.  Key Senate and House legislators.  The Governor’s Office of Economic Development.  And others.
  • Intelligent Infrastructure – The projects we support include such valuable improvements as university buildings for both research and student use; public water and sewer projects; federal buildings and other facilities financed with federal stimulus funding; and the new Colorado History Museum and Justice Center.

We’re raising the bar for quality throughout the industry.

Watching Randy at work in his new position as AGC president, I’ve also been impressed with his passion for communications and collaboration.  He recognizes the need to reach out to every construction professional in our state and provide a forum for greater cooperation and education.

That’s why AGC Colorado now offers many classes on such critical issues as LEED building, storm water management and jobsite safety.  And starting this year, we invite architects, engineers, developers and others to attend our classes as well – at member rates.  This is our latest effort to promote greater collaboration among all construction professionals in the state.

Statewide leadership – at work on your next project.

Contractors today must be far more than simply builders.  They must be sophisticated financial managers and responsible stewards of the environment.  They must be virtual business partners who contribute far more value than their counterparts did just a decade ago.

With a focused, industry-wide effort, the contractors of this region can be elevated to this level of quality and value.  When that has been accomplished, everybody wins – contractors large and small, project owners, engineers, architects, end-users, neighboring businesses…everyone.

Meanwhile, it’s smart to assign your next project to a contractor who has already invested in the future by investing in AGC – and tapping all the resources offered by AGC Colorado.  Companies like Heath Construction, guided by leaders like Randy DeMario, can provide a strong partner on any project. They attract the region’s top talent, protect their employees with vigorous safety programs, enhance their abilities with ongoing training, and deliver extraordinary value on every jobsite.

I’m glad to have had this opportunity to introduce AGC Colorado and its new president, Randy DeMario.  I hope you will contact me or Randy to discuss AGC.  You might also ask him to share his views on the future of our industry in Colorado.  I am sure you’ll find his perspective illuminating and inspiring.
